An organising committee for the Data and Digital Community of Practice is being established and we’d love you to be a part of it. We’re looking for as diverse a cohort as possible, the broader our range of experiences, the better job we’ll do on behalf of the New Zealand data system.
If you’re interested in being a part of the organising committee, or want to know more about the Community of Practice get in touch with Ritesh Anand:
Stats NZ and the Government Chief Data Steward are working with the Digital Public Service Branch (an operational arm of the Government Chief Digital Officer), and Standards NZ to create the Data and Digital Community of Practice (CoP).

The CoP will provide a platform for sharing of information, experience and practice in relation to data and digital standards related matters. With a focus on learning, collaborating, promoting, championing, and aligning good data and digital standards practices across the New Zealand Public Service.
The Data and Digital Community of Practice will replace the existing Data Standards Community of Practice. It’s exciting for us to be making progress. We’re working to bring together a diverse and enthusiastic team. We want free and frank discussions about all things standards. It makes sense for the Government Chief Digital Officer and Government Chief Data Steward to pool knowledge, and working on a shared initiative brings a host of opportunities.
