I hope this letter finds you well. I am a Masters student doing a research study project on "Vehicle theft prediction using machine learning". I am writing to request for stolen vehicle data for the past 5 years. The data about stolen vehicles currently available on the New Zealand Police website is from the last six months which is not sufficient for my study. I would be grateful if you provide me with the stolen vehicle data in CSV format. The stolen vehicle data with information such as Colour - Make - Model - Year - Vehicle Type - Date Reported Stolen - Region would be appreciated. Unecessary hassle caused by vehicle thefts by preventing them to happen in the first place. Increasing awareness of thefts to the owners of the cars which are more likely to be stolen might reduce vehicle thefts and more necessary precaution be taken by the owners.

Using machine learning algorithms to predict the cars wehich are more likely to get stolen again we can create an awareness to the public. We can also use the results obtained from the research to further help insurance companies to reduce the premium of cars which are unlikely to get stolen and mopre premium for cars whiuch are likely to get stolen. This approach helps the customers, the POLICE dept. NZ and the insurance companies.
