The Government Analytics Network (GAN) is a community of practice for government people working with data. Formed in 2017, GAN has 300 members from 40 government agencies. It is run by its members with support and guidance from Stats NZ and the Social Investment Agency.

What GAN does

GAN aims to grow data analytics capability within government organisations by:

  • providing opportunities for learning from others and sharing good practice
  • linking people and their work to the broader government data analytics community
  • sharing work updates, reports, and conference news
  • enabling collaboration through regular focus groups
  • advertising vacancies and secondments in our newsletter
  • making changes, eg www.jobs.govt.nz now has a ‘data analytics’ category.

The GAN is open to all New Zealand public servants. Join by emailing GAN@stats.govt.nz. You’ll receive regular newsletters and be notified about GAN’s:

  • monthly seminar series
